4hero - 'play with the changes'

Indy UK slowbeat producer duo McFarlane and Clair cause waves with this commercial relaease 'play with changes', sort of a fusion of R&B, Hip Hop and Breakbeat. It is not too easy to digest for your average hip hopper as this sound is a really a particular style away from subliminal hip hop creation.

Classic Movie Snapshot - 'There's something about Mary', Puffy strikes hard

Hilariously funny this particular scene in the comedy 'There's something about Mary' where Ben Stiller is in combat with the dog of Mary's (Cameron Diaz) roommate. The fight lasts about 3 minutes where Stiller is attacked by the dog who just has been fed multiple doses of amphetamines by Matt Damon's character just to trouble Stiller's date with Mary.

Urotsukidoji - Legend of the Overfiend chapter 1 'Birth of the Overfiend'

This is a must have classic for Anime fans, the Urotsukidoji saga Legend of the Overfiend and considered the groundlayer of erotic Manga created by Toshio Maeda. Not for small kiddies as the cartoon epic shows beautiful naked girls getting raped by demons and tough heros with spiky hair slicing and dicing up tentacle monsters, but it is pretty mindblazing stuff especially considering this 1st release came out in 1987. The apocalyptic plot, the fantastic graphics and diversity and depth of characters, make this one of the most interesting stand-alone long-play adult cartoon ever.
The plot outline (taken from www.wikipedia.com): Planet Earth is not all it seems. It is revealed that humans are not alone and that there are unseen realms running parallel to our own: the realms of the Demons (Makai) and the Man-Beasts (Jyujinkai). To further that, there is a 3000 year old legend that fortells the coming of the Overfiend (Chojin) - a being of unimaginable power that will unite all three realms into a land of eternity.

Movie Review - 'Alpha Dog' (2006)

A group of suburban 'little-stone-throwing' drugdealing near-adults (among others Timberlake and Hirsch) decide to kidnap the little brother of a frantic wired out low-life customer (Foster) after the latter fails to pay his large outstanding tab.
Overall, dierctor Nick Cassavetes in part succeeds portraying this profile type of teen living in the end-nineties adopting a lifestyle focused solely on partying, pot-smoking, sex and your occasional small-time drug-running. Disregardless, the abundance of characters and their play throughout the movie cloud the storyline especially at the beginning and bring the movie to unnecessary length.
Stand out performance though by Timberlake depicting the character of one of the weaker-harted teens whose conciousness turns guilty at the near-end of the kidnapping. Add Foster to the list who plays a deranged drug-taking addict wilding out. He overplays his character a bit (just as Stone does) but is extremely funny.
Last, Bruce Willis is almost brilliantly disguised in his character as a mellowed out 70s Woodstock dad who pulls robust strings in the drug trafficking business.
In all, the movie is just bringing enough entertaining momentum (but too lenghty with a crowded screenplay), the storyline is a bit played out focusing on the usual themes of sex and drugs and the story itself is, unfortunately, appallingly true as the kidnapping and resulting action happened in real life

Devin the Dude - 'Waiting the Inhale'

Devin the Dude, the lightly comical rapper often putting himself down in his lyrics bringing raw Eddie Murpy 'Delirious' type story lines, comes out with his fourth debut. 'Waiting the Inhale'. As far as production goes, beats and sounds are chilled out, bringing an easy-to-listen mellow type of flavor. I say this album is dope, To me the Dude is an icon in in his own way, his first week of sales only made 12k though which puts doubt in the fact that Devin will ever realise mainstream status. The raunchy contents of his rhymes, like in the track 'you want that money' often don't help levelling the rapper up to a more mainstream audience. Disregardless, if you aprreciate true hip you appreciate Devin.
