MC Juice (track of Molemen album 'Killing Fields') - the come up (pr. by molemen)

I always favor Chicago underdog rapper MC Juice over all those other battle rappers like Eyedea, Supernatural and even Craig G. He has this sick ass voice, smooth flow and killer punchlines.

Cilvaringz - 'I'

Long awaited solo album of Dutch Wu-affiliate producer Cilvaringz that apparently took 6 years to make. Cilvaringz collaborates with A variety (6 out of 9) WU rappers including RZA, Ghostface, Method Man and other cameo appearances come from Pharell and Ne-Yo. It is said that RZA & the Wu-Elements have dug out production form archives, some dating back to '96.

It's that typical wu killa bee sound, drums, strings horns, with sharp cut up sampled vocals.

El-P - Ill sleep when you're dead

I liked El-Producto back in his Company Flow days, have never been a real fan of his dense science fiction freakish lyrical content and this album is therefore not really my cup of tea. Disregardless when dusted out of your mind this album is definetely worth spinning, Hardcore hip hop indies will adore this....

Evidence - 'Weatherman'

Evidence from dilated peoples, not really one of my favorites mc's, but this album is rich of mc flavour with planet asia, slug, big pooh, phonte and more. Production dominated by Alchemist and Evidence himself.

Movie Review - The Holiday (2006)

Mildly entertaining romantic comedy with Cameron Diaz, Jude Law, Jack Black and Kate Winslet. Plot outline: Two women with guy problems swap houses to get away from their grief and meet local men. Law couples with Diaz (naturally) and Black with Winstlet (although I'd rather seen beautiful Shannyn Sossamon who has a small role in this picture, swapped with Winstlet's lead role).
The story outline is more or less split in half, one love story set in the UK where Law and Diaz hook up and the other in LA (Black and Winstlet). The UK romance represents by far out the better half of the movie in part due to Law's and Diaz chemistry and due to the slightly better plot
Overall, it is the wide array of stars (including veteran actor Elli Wallach) that carry this movie as it misses the quality/realness of a good romantic comedy. (compare to Nothing Hill Gate and Hitch for example).

Movie Review and Download - Rocky Balboa (2006)

A fairly acceptable effort this latest installment of the Rocky series is. Stallone, who directed Rocky 2 to 5, manages to create boxing drama in which frustrated old-timer veteran Rocky Balboa steps in the arena one more time again. As in Rocky 5, more and more focus is on the emotional life of the boxing hero than there is fighting.

Although part of the storyline is unrealistic, a match between a veteran boxer and a youngblood heavy-weight chapmpion, the single boxing scene comes off natural. No more punches that sound like explosions and no more fake 'WWF wrestling style' body motion as in previous Rock releases. In essence, what Scorcese and Eastwood managed to do in one take in 'Raging Bull' and 'Million Dollar Baby' respectively, took Stallone 4 Rocky productions just to get close.

Disregardless of improvement in comparison against previous Rocky episodes, the sequel stigma holds for Rocky 6 as it does not compare well against John G. Avildsen - directed Rocky (1976).

plot outline; the retired Balboa, now a restaurantholder, can't stop to let go of deceased wife Adrian. Slightly de-attached from son (not played by his real son Sage Stallone as in Rocky 5 but by Milo Ventimiglia), Rocky decides to unleash his anger and frustration by stepping in the ring with Mason 'The Line' Dixon cuurent heavy weight champion (played by Tarver who was an actual world light heavy weight champ).

memorable and well-acted scene: Rocky in front of boxing commitee, applying for boxing license.

Conclusion: watch-worthy, entertaining but nothing spectacular

First Solo album of Mobb Deep's 'dunn' rapper Prodigy, H.N.I.C. Posted here to warm up for the follow-up to this debut, aptly titled H.N.I.C. 2, which hopefully will come out later this year.
Although back in 2000 when this album hit the shelves, when there were whispers of the Mobb falling off the ladder, Prodigy proves critisists wrong. As the more prolific rapper of the Mobb duo, P fronts thuggish street slang powered by production from Havoc, Just Blaze, Rocwilder, Alchemist and others. Guest apparances by (among others) Cormega, Noreaga and Big Noyd.
